Hiking in Edmonton's river valley and the parklands surrounding our city.

The mission of Leaping Lizards is to be your facilitator for life-long personal fitness and lifestyle change, leading to your discovery of the urban wilderness trails of Edmonton, its neighbouring urban communities and nearby parklands.

Leaping Lizard Adventures is offering a Trail Fit Training program on the trails of Edmonton's River Valley. This comprehensive program will provide well-balanced overall conditioning that builds progressively to develop all aspects of physical fitness through the rigours of hiking.

Fall Session City Hikes:  10 Weeks

September 6 – November 20

You can choose any number of hikes each week that suits your schedule and fitness level. We provide a punch card with 5, 10, 15, 20,  hikes you can use for the Fall session. If you are looking to get more out of your training. I am offering Personal Consultations and Personal Training this fall.

Café Hikes: easy – 9:00 – 10:30 am Sundays

With café hikes you get your exercise done early in the day; rain or shine you start the day invigorated and alive. After our refreshing morning hikes we head off to a cozy cafe and relax with a latte or cup of chai tea and possibly a favorite treat. They are a combination of flat and rolling trails, neighborhoods loops with hill and stair options.

September 11 to November 20 ( No Hike Sept 25 ) 10 Sundays

Elevation Stair Training – difficult – 6:15 – 7:15pm

These are high intensity work-outs packed with stairs and hills and including body-weight training designed to get a high calorie expenditure and functional muscle strength using the tree'd ravines and river-side vistas of the river valley.

September 6 – November 8 – 10 Tuesdays

Trail Training Hikes – moderate – 6:15 – 7:30 pm

Trail Training Hikes have numerous hill and stair opportunities to get you in shape for the mountain trails or just for fun. Check out our Half Day hikes for longer endurance training and an opportunity to visit the parkland jewels that surround Edmonton.

September 8 to November 10 – 10 Thursdays

Blackfoot Islet Lake Hike – Sept 11, 12:00 – 4:00pm

Elk Island National Park Hike – Sept 18, 12:00 – 5:00pm
